In this section we extend the mission of our site to devote space to philosophy in other parts of the world to give a collective overview for the way philosophy is performed in different cultures. Our aim is not to give a detailed full description for such efforts, instead we only aim at an overview sufficient to shed light on these efforts that are to a large extent overshadowed by the overwhelming philosophical production of the "western" mind. Such a space can be expanded by specialists who belong to these traditions to whatever limit they wish. From another side, the overall pictures of these traditions, presented side by side, will serve those interested in comparative and intercultural (or cross-cultural) philosophy. From a different perspective, having these pictures side by side will help also new commers to the field of philosophy to have a more comprehensive view than the usual one-dimensional Greeco-Western view. Hence, they become later on able to develop their own more pluralistic view. Finally, we devoted space for the prevailing philosophical traditions (I.e., Continental, British, and American as well as Australian), in order to have, from the formal view, a collective picture
With respect to classification, these philosophical efforts are classified first according to their philosophical/civilizational heritage, second according to geographical regions, and thirdly according to major countries.
In the same way as we did in our current project "Philosophers of the Arabs", philosophical thought in these traditions is divided chronologically into modern and contemporary, and presented essentially through their most influential figures, in addition their basic ideas are introduced through different forms of discourse. Naturally, such an ambitious project will take long time before becoming a true representative of the traditions presented here. Reaching such a state will depend crucially on the degree of interaction of the scholars representing these traditions with the project.
Input, criticism, and discussions of this general method of presenting contemporary world philosophical efforts is welcomed from scholars interested in the project around the world.
